The first cinematic trailer for Electronic Arts' Command & Conquer 4 has arrived. Have a look (a certain familiar face makes an appearance):

Ubisoft confirmed that the highly successful game publisher was forced to delayed key releases such as Splinter Cell: Conviction and Wii exclusive Red Steel 2 until the fourth quarter between January and March 2010. The next Ghost Recon title also suffered a delay, as well as the new IP I Am Alive - both were pushed back to 2010/2011.

"We are currently experiencing a very sharp slowdown in our sales for Nintendo DS as well as sales of back catalogue titles, in the context of a market that is tougher than anticipated," says CEO Yves Guillemot. "We are disappointed that we have to postpone the release of several major games but we consider that this choice is the best one in the long term interests of Ubisoft."

LucasArts announced the PC version of Star Wars The Force Unleashed, as well as the upcoming DLC for consoles. In case you didn't get a chance to try it out, here's the 'Benchmark Version' of Resident Evil 5.

Crytek is currently developing their new "state-of-the-art multiplatform game development solution CryENGINE 3" for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC. Of course, the technology is set to premiere with the forthcoming title, Crysis 2. "The development of Crysis 2 marks a major stepping stone for our studio," said Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of Crytek.

He added: "This is not only the next game in the Crysis franchise, it's the first title we are developing for consoles and the first title being built on CryENGINE 3. We are excited to have the support of EA Partners again as we work together to make the launch of Crysis 2 a huge event."

Sadly, kids, the game won't be arriving to the market until some time next year, according to a thread on CryMod.

Dead Space appears to be another franchise from EA, which the industry giant intends to milk all the way. Apart from having a live-action Dead Space in the works, the company revealed it's developing two video games - Dead Space 2, as well as Dead Space 3.

Dead Space was a great game, for me anyway. Making it into a movie just looks like pushing it a bit. There are too many sci-fi horrors in Hollywood at the moment.

As for the game sequels, well, such a move was expected from Electronic Arts. Let's hope they bring something new an interesting to the setting.

MS releases gameplay footage from Bungie's upcoming shooter, Halo 3: ODST:

Halo 3: ODST hits Xbox 360s on September 22, 2009.

Peter Jackson, unfortunately, won't be working on a Halo-branded feature film, as revealed during the recently held Comic Con in San Diego. When questioned on the subject the Hollywood director responded: "Halo project is no longer happening, it sort of collapsed when the movie didn't end up happening."

Peter Jackson co-produced District 9, which had been directed by Neill Blomkamp and is set to premiere on August 14.

It's a shame Halo movie didn't happened, 'cause Peter Jackson would've made a fine tribute to the franchise.
