It's just been announced that gamers will be able to try out a playable demo of Batman: Arkham Asylum this Friday. The demo is going to be available for the PlayStaion 3, Xbox 360 and PC (PC dammit, can you believe it? They said "PC!!")
According to the Eidos Interactive, the demo opens as the "Dark Knight and Commissioner Gordon return The Joker back into confinement at Arkham Asylum. But things soon fall apart as The Joker gains the upper hand and springs a trap, setting Arkham Asylum's occupants upon Batman. The demo offers gamers a taste of the fierce FreeFlow combat system, the cunning stealth of the Invisible Predator mechanic, and the feeling of becoming the world's greatest detective as they navigate Arkham Asylum's imposing Intensive Treatment facility. Players can unlock character bios, as well as get a sneak peak at some of the infamous foes that Batman will encounter within the cavernous and macabre confines of Arkham Asylum."

EA announced The Sims 3 World Adventures, the first expansion pack for the life sim game, The Sims 3. The add-on, naturally, requires the original game. Here's the word:
Players can take their Sims on new journeys to famous real-world inspired destinations around the globe for the first time ever and seek out new adventures. While exploring the landmarks of an exotic city, there is no telling what the Sims will find. From mastering martial arts in Shang Simla, China, discovering rich culture and famous landmarks on a romantic getaway to Champs Les Sims, France or exploring the depths of ancient tombs in Al Simhara, Egypt, players can take their Sims on a journey that will change their Sims' lives. Players can accept challenges to search for secret treasures, learn new skills and chase down new personal opportunities, meet new Sims with unique personalities, share their culture and bring them home, discover new styles on their travels, and share everything they encounter on their adventures with the world through personal photographs, movies, and stories.
"We're thrilled with the global success of The Sims 3 over these last few months and are looking forward to expanding on the gameplay experience with one of the most robust expansion packs to The Sims yet," said Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims at EA. "Players will be able to take their Sims on the adventure of a lifetime and explore lands outside of Sunset Valley and Riverview, pursue thrilling new life destinies in locations around the world inspired by famous destinations, and immerse themselves in the open-ended gameplay where they'll discover new cities in China, France, and Egypt, and share new stories."
The Sims 3 World Adventures is scheduled to ship to retailers worldwide on November 16, 2009.

This is Vegas is Midway's open-world lifestyle action game, originally slated for a 2008 release. Eventually, Midway pushed back the title for launch some time in 2009. But it looks as though things went from bad to worse.
Last week it's been reported that Midway is to become part of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Apparently, after the acquisition Midway would be known as WB Games Chicago. The buyout has evidently influenced the company's lineup and the first victim is This is Vegas. Of course, this hasn't been confirmed officially yet. As far as we know Gamestop informed its pre-order customers that the game has been canceled.
Here's a few snips from our preview of the game:
"This is Vegas maintains the atmosphere of a living environment, so when the player sits at a blackjack table, everything around works as it would in real casinos. Gambling enthusiasts pace every which way, some of which sit down beside you at the table to join the game..."
"The idea is not to offer too realistic and explicit scenes of violence or sex (damn!). Even so, it's been reported that the publisher and developer of This is Vegas are working closely with the ESRB on whether or not to include nudity in the game. (Pussies. - 2Lions)"

Mothership Zeta takes Fallout 3 in an entirely new direction ' outer space. Meet new characters and join with them in a desperate bid to escape the Aliens' clutches.
