The Writer Hidden Area
There is a hidden area that unlocks an achievement (Creative Space) and adds a little bit of information to the storyline. It's location is in the same area as the airplane you come across and jump on it's wings to get to the lower level. After dropping from the plane, head to the left of the furthest wing (towards the front of the plane). Along the rock wall you come to, there will be a slightly hidden hole. Traverse through and follow the path along the cliffside to come to a cave with a giant typewriter. Alan will say a bit of dialog, and if you go atop the typewriter, you can read the paper which gives more insight into the storyline.
