Type in "debugup" during play to get debug
mode. You will see coordinates appear in the top right hand
corner and Dinos will ignore you unless you shoot them. You can also use the following Keys while in debug mode:
[Ctrl] - Run Faster
[Ctrl]+N - Long Jumps
[Shift]+S - Slow Motion
[Shift]+T - Show Frame Rate
[Shift]+L - Fly mode
[Shift]+F - Toggles fog
[Shift]+C - Toggles cloud shadows
[Shift]+M - Toggles 3D models
[Shift]+E - Toggles Enviromental mapping
[Shift]+G - Toggles Gourad mapping
[Shift]+P - Toggles Phong mapping
[Tab] - Full Map
[Caps Lock] - compass / wind direction meter
O - Decrease bump mapping
P - Increase bump mapping
U - Decrease plants
I - Increase plants
[ - Decrease view range
] - Increase view range
NOTE: If you decrease the plants all the way down, they will turn 2D. Increasing the plants or bump mapping will cause the ground and trees to stay 3D at further distances since they are 2D until you get close. You cannot toggle o and p unless the view range is higher.
File Hack for all hunts, animals and weapons
Open the "_RES" file located in the "Huntdat" folder of the
game directory on your hard drive. The "_RES" file contains
specs for weapons, characters and prices. Changing the values
in the "_RES" file will change the values in the game. The
following weapons values can be changed:
POWER: Changing this value to 20 will kill anything with
one shot. rate
RATE: The higher the value the faster the weapon will repeat
fire. s
SHOTS: Number of shots or ammo
RELOAD: Some weapons have this option and a higher value allows
for faster reloading
I didn't see any need to alter the values of the characters but these could be played with as well to control aggresiveness, health and other things listed in the "_RES" file. Prices for everything can be lowered to a value of 10 and the start value raised to what ever you like, I used 500 so that everything could be purchased right away. One thing I noticed is that purchasing multiple weapons in the selection stage doesn't give you multiple weapons during the hunt.
Open your save game in any hex editor and find location 000000806. Insert an 0F there and you'll have all the cashpoints you need to go anywhere and try to shoot anything with any weapon. When you started a new game, you should insert it after the value 64 on that particular line.
Diatryma can swim after you in deep water.
All animals can kill you. Some are listed peaceful and that is not true.
Climbing mountains is easier where snow lies.
The wind meter detects wind blowing the direction that the triangle points to.
In observer mode, animals only attack you if you walk into them.
In debug mode, Animals only attack when you shoot at them or run into them.
In debug mode, the double barreled shotgun shoots only one shot but still reloads two shells after the initial shot.
Some animals are not supposed to get in water at all. But ones that run and jump fast sometimes get into the water.
For extra sound sensitive animals, use your mating call to attract them towards you.
Always walk against the wind when hunting to help avoid being detected by the animals.
The non-game animals such as pig and Archeopterics do not give you points.
Animals you do not select to hunt that you come across gain you less points if you kill them.
