Hints
NOTE: As their name suggests hints are not exactly Xevious cheats, and are usually just simple (but very useful) tips on how you can unlock secret level, features, find hidden areas and such. Hopefully these will make playing Xevious even more entertaining.
Skip the Fortress
Just before you get to the Fortress part of the game, press pause. Unpause the game right after that, but instead of having to fight the Fortress, you'll be able to just move right past.
