Easter Egg: Rex
On the last level the Maw, on the last checkpoint, when you go off the big
jump onto the small bridge, drive the warthog so a quarter of it is off the
bridge. Jump on top of the warthog and jump on top of the wall on either side
(the one closest to you) and follow it up to an upper, smaller bridge. There
are two hall ways and go in the one with blood in it. Look to the right and
you will find the name Rex written in blood.
Assault Banshee Trick
Get the banshee and fly until you get to Canyon B, where a covenant dropship
comes down with two ghosts on it. Go up to the top of the center spire and
take the other banshee. (If you are playing on co-op mode, push the other
banshee off the cliff for your partner to use.) Destroy all remaining forces
in the area, then fly through the tunnel to the area where you normally have
to leave the tank. Save the marines and fly your banshee over the brown
building that has the pillars at its base. Kill the covenant, then instead of
going through the door, fly up to the bridges overhead. One bridge will have
two green doors. Go through either door. Now there will be no enemies, and
there will be all vehicles except mortar tanks at your disposal. This trick
can help a little on Legendary mode.
Easier Play on All Difficulties
Play a game on Co-Op mode and have one the players stay back, out of range of
combat. With the other player, progress through the level and engage in
combat. If that player dies he will be instantly teleported back to the second
player that is just standing around in a safe spot.
Falling without losing life
When falling from high distances your shield or is depleted when you hit the
ground. If you hold the crouch button shortly before you hit the ground, you
will not be affected in any way. This is very helpful when playing in
multiplayer on levels like Hang 'em High or Prisoner. It has to be timed right
though.
Hidden Music
In assault on the control room near the end of the level on the rock road
there will be a banshee steal the banshee and look behind you. if you look up
you will see 3 sniper spots a bottom, middle, and top go to the middle one
with the banshee land carefully and go to the right side and look at the blue
light wait a while and you will hear a hidden track.
Easter
Egg: Megg
'The Megg' is one of the hardest easter eggs in Halo. After all once you see
the Megg, its game over. Start a game on the Pillar of Autumn while on
legendary difficulty. Jump on the cryo tube Master Chief comes out of. Jump on
the shield recharger thing. Then, jump on the walkway. You'll see some
barrels. Jump on the top one. Wait for that guy that woke you up to die, then
jump down. Get to the captain and shoot him. As soon as Cortana says,
'rampant', find the door the invincible marines came out of. If you can get
past them, another door will open. The Marines can't get you while you're in
here. Look up at the 'M' made out of bullets. After you see it you're traped
and the marines now can kill you. Like I said once you see the Megg, you die.
Easter Egg: Talking Grunt
WARNING: You may need to restart this stage if you pursue this easter egg.
In the last level of Halo, you'll arrive at a second grouping of tunnels after
the dropship pick up goes awry.
Take the first tunnel on your right and there should be a fork leading to a
dead-end half way through. If you head partly that way, you can hear a grunt
talking about something phenomenonally droll.
Different Ending
Beat Halo's Campaign on Legendary to see a slightly longer
ending movie.
343 Guilty Spark Glitch
Go to the level "343 Guilty Spark." Right when the Pelican
is about to drop you off, throw some grenades. It will
make a glitch happen, and you will stay on the Pelican.
Don't jump off. The Pelican will fly very far away,
then it will land at the edge of the level. Get off
the Pelican. You will be seeing some 2-D trees and some
other cool things. Also, if you walk around alot, you
might find a marine. He will just sit there; not reacting
to anything, unless you shoot him. Also, if you go to
the entrance of the building that holds "The Flood,"
you will see some Covenant Grunts shooting the air.
If you look closely, you can see FLOATING assault rifles
shooting them back. After a few seconds, they drop to
the ground. You know that little movie you watch later
where you find Private Jenkin's helmet? Yep, you guessed
it, those guns were being held by the marines in the
movie. It isn't possible to get to that area fast enough,
unless you use the Pelican glitch.
343 Guilty Spark: Hidden Marine
Go to the two dimensional place and keep walking straight
until reaching a sort of wall. Walk along the side of
it, then take a left once you get past it. Keep walking
straight. You will notice a figure in the distance.
Keep walking forward and it will turn out to be a Marine.
343 Guilty Spark: Dead Marines
Halo Cheats: When you first enter the structure, go down the huge
elevator. When you reach the bottom, kill the Jackals
and Grunts by the door then go back to the elevator.
Reactivate it. It will take you back up into the swamp.
Exit the structure and go towards the Shade Gun. Next
to it will be several dead Marines. Continue walking
through the forest and you will encounter even more
dead Marines. In total, you will probably find about
twenty of them.
343 Guilty Spark: Marine identification
Halo Cheats: In the beginning of the level when you walk over the
log, look at your radar. There is a yellow blip (friendly
unit) from the cliff just beyond the log. When you continue
up the log and over the hill, you will see an explosion
from about four fragmentation grenades, followed by
machine rifle rounds coming from the structure. The
man on the cliff is Mendoza, the man on point for your
unit. The rest could have been Keyes Squad (when you
walk inside, the elevator needs to return up) or a group
of rouge units set up for a suicide run.
343 Guilty Spark: Avoid getting detected
When you are in the path that leads to the complex (where
the elevator leads to the bottom of the complex, then
to the Flood) move slowly (crouching makes it slightly
easier) and hide in the bush next to the alien gun turret.
Take out your pistol and use the scope. Snipe the Grunts
and Jackals. If you shot all them fast enough, the aliens
will not notice you. You may want to practice this trick
a few times to increase your accuracy and shooting.
343 Guilty Spark. Flood preview
When you walk across the log in the woods, you may notice
a few yellow dots on your radar. If you quickly look
to the right and up that hill (when you are still on
the log), you will see at least one of the Flood that
you experience later in the game.
Hidden Grunt
In the last level "The Maw," you need to go down the very
last hallway. To your right, there should be an opening in
the wall just big enough for the Warthog to fit through. It
leads to a dead end, but you find a Silver Grunt there. He
won't attack you. After a few screams of terror, he wil say
something like "It's a good thing that the food nipple was
waiting for me on the starship, because I worked up a big
grunty thirst."
Easier Maw (2 player)
When entering the large engine room where you go to the 3rd
floor and activate the panels and that in-turn opens the engine,
where you throw a grenade or fire missle into the open engine,
if the second player never enters the room only the small
flood skulls0-suckers will enter -NONE of the larger Flood
or the Flying laser guys will ever appear. As soon as the
final engine is destroyed and player 2 enters, the large Flood
will then appear... Bypass that by only having one player
finish the level off.
Glitch movie in Two Betrayals
To have the chief die in a movie sequence in Two Betrayals
(ending): in two player mode, have one player enter the last
pulse generator without shooting the robots and just explode
the generator while the other waits near the checkpoint hallway,
after it explodes have that other player run outside so the
other player inside the pulse generator with be transferred
back with the other player. when movie sequence starts the
robots with start shooting their lasers at the chief until
he falls down, but you will still here his voice!
Kill your opponent easily
Approach the Covenant from the back and hit 'em him with melee
attack (B button), they die instantly! It also proves efficient
in multiplayer mode!
