Whoever put that "arrow in the knee" line in Skyrim needs to be knocked out. It was funny for one week, but now it's getting on my nerves!

Blame Bethesda's writers and voice-actors. They can't seem to figure out NPC dialogue that isn't painfully hokey and repetitive, and lends itself so horribly well to internet memes.

I mean, it's not like this is the first time it's happened.
