Best of 2004
Management Game of the Year
Winner: Sid Meier's Pirates!
Publisher: Atari
Developer: Firaxis Games
Pirates! was definitely one of those games that should not have gone unnoticed... and yet it did somehow.
Not even Sid Meier's reputation helped in those regards. Even those who have never played the original Pirates! noticed the mention of the man known as the 'father of the Civilization series.' Indeed, Sid Meier has rightfully recognized the potential the modern technology offers and the course the modern games have taken, so the decision to 'revive' one of his most popular games was something that made many old-school gamers leap from joy (if their chronic arthritis would allow 'em).
The greatest thing that Firaxis managed to pull off with this project was to seamlessly translate the old charm of the original and bring it into the new century, which they did. The original Pirates! was an awesome game, so being able to bring it to the new generations and in such a polished and immersive form surely deserves a reward. Or some booty maybe?
Oh and, we didn't want to give this award to The Sims 2. Hey, this is ActionTrip, you bastards, learn to deal with it!
Runner-up: The Sims 2.
Expansion Pack of the Year
Winner: Call of Duty: United Offensive
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Gray Matter
The title of the best expansion pack for 2004 has deservedly gone into the arms of CoD: United Offensive. As I am not a very patient person, you will have to believe me when I say that this game deserves to be spoken of in superlatives and exclamation marks. I would love to end my short overview with that, but the thing is I see a very angry 2Lions who will by no means allow me to abandon my position (in this case, the Missonary position. HAR HAR!!! -Ed), thus forcing me to stay with you until the very (bitter?) end.
United Offensive is a great expansion for what many reviewers and fans alike considered to be one of the best games of 2003. The original developer Infinity Ward did not, however, make the expansion. That task was given to Gray Matter, who have proven their worth in the line of fire. Hoorah!
Runner-up: Rise of Nations: Thrones and Patriots.
Babe of the Year
Babe: click here
Score: 9.04
Votes: 626
While Smapdey claims him and Phoosh have evidence that at least two of the girls on this list have a 5 inch penis, I firmly believe that that's just their way of projecting their subcounscious desires and not being honest with themselves.
I assure you that none of these girls have a penis. Especially not your penis. Deal with it, you loser.
Runners-up: Candidate #1, Candidate #2, Candidate #3, Candidate #4.
