Management Game of the Year
Winner: Sid Meier's Pirates!
Publisher: Atari
Developer: Firaxis Games
Pirates! was definitely one of those games that should not have gone unnoticed... and yet it did somehow.
Not even Sid Meier's reputation helped in those regards. Even those who have never played the original Pirates! noticed the mention of the man known as the 'father of the Civilization series.' Indeed, Sid Meier has rightfully recognized the potential the modern technology offers and the course the modern games have taken, so the decision to 'revive' one of his most popular games was something that made many old-school gamers leap from joy (if their chronic arthritis would allow 'em).
The greatest thing that Firaxis managed to pull off with this project was to seamlessly translate the old charm of the original and bring it into the new century, which they did. The original Pirates! was an awesome game, so being able to bring it to the new generations and in such a polished and immersive form surely deserves a reward. Or some booty maybe?
Oh and, we didn't want to give this award to The Sims 2. Hey, this is ActionTrip, you bastards, learn to deal with it!
Runner-up: The Sims 2.
Expansion Pack of the Year
Winner: Call of Duty: United Offensive
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Gray Matter
The title of the best expansion pack for 2004 has deservedly gone into the arms of CoD: United Offensive. As I am not a very patient person, you will have to believe me when I say that this game deserves to be spoken of in superlatives and exclamation marks. I would love to end my short overview with that, but the thing is I see a very angry 2Lions who will by no means allow me to abandon my position (in this case, the Missonary position. HAR HAR!!! -Ed), thus forcing me to stay with you until the very (bitter?) end.
United Offensive is a great expansion for what many reviewers and fans alike considered to be one of the best games of 2003. The original developer Infinity Ward did not, however, make the expansion. That task was given to Gray Matter, who have proven their worth in the line of fire. Hoorah!
Runner-up: Rise of Nations: Thrones and Patriots.
Babe of the Year
Babe: click here
Score: 9.04
Votes: 626
While Smapdey claims him and Phoosh have evidence that at least two of the girls on this list have a 5 inch penis, I firmly believe that that's just their way of projecting their subcounscious desires and not being honest with themselves.
I assure you that none of these girls have a penis. Especially not your penis. Deal with it, you loser.
Runners-up: Candidate #1, Candidate #2, Candidate #3, Candidate #4.

| The only one I disagree with is NFSU2, FlatOut pwnz is so badly its not funny. NFSU2 isn't even a sports game really, its a pimp out your car sim. | ||

| man, Need For Speed Underground 2 is pretty wicked, ive been playing it, and im not one for racing games, but this is really the first one thats kept me at rapt attention, wow its, good and addicting, like the Sims 2 used to be. | ||

| I'am surprised and disapointed to know that Doom 3 was not the runner up, if not the winner. I thought Doom 3 was better than Far Cry... | ||

| I admit that Doom 3 is a game that doesn't match Half Life 2's interactive game play, but I thought it was definitely better than Far Cay...so to speak, they are similar in more ways than one, and Doom 3 has definitely better graphics...I wonder why Far Cry was given more preference. | ||

| because it has freeform gameplay whereas doom3 is you stuck in dark corriders. the replayabilty of far cry is much better in my opinion than doom3. doom3 has got better graphics, but graphics dont make a good game. gameplay is what makes a good game. look at diablo2 |

| listen that was crap the vampire of mascarade or whatever the hell it was should not have been second place. half life 2 was enjoyed by more people, the game was more imersive, the story was better, the ending sets it up for maybe an expansion pack (fingers crossed) or an even better game. listen the series is not ober so why make it with an ending that makes it seem like the series is over. I am going to have to agree on the rest of the review thougth I feel that you did a good job except half life should have been second to a game that got an 82% on your review. | ||

| Quite a good article, i agree with all but the nfsu2, it should have been flatout. Its a tight fight with babe winner and canditate number 4, but still the winner is better | ||

| FarCry is more than Half Life 2 would ever be. Why not give a Multiplayer Game of the Year award to Dawn of War? |

| Yeah, I think that there's a few console games that would almost certainly beat out the videogames this year. Burnout 3 is a superior racing game. | ||

| well im a little disappointed here, i expected HL2 to win, i mean come on man, just because you happen to have sound issues doesnt mean u have to drag hl2 down, i mean not even flippin' second place, thats BS, VVampires the masquerades uses likea cut-down version of Source too, its not even as visually stunning as HL2 i thought, and WoW and HL2 comparing them is liek comparing oranges to apples, tahts really hard, cause there so different. At elast u didnt say something completely stupid as say runner up Doom 3...god, that would ahve ruined it for me right there... | ||

| is it just me or does the feel of the Far Cry's guns is much better than HL2. i mean HL2, come on, those guns sound like toys | ||
