The next Prince of Persia game is almost out kids. Presenting a brand new chapter in the Prince of Persia universe, the latest game from the folks at Ubisoft Montreal features a snazzy new illustrative art style.

"Set in a land rooted in ancient Persian mythology, the Prince finds himself caught in an epic battle between the primal forces of light and darkness: the God of Light, Ormazd versus his brother Ahriman, the destructive God of Darkness. The Prince arrives just in time to witness the destruction of the legendary Tree of Life, an act which threatens to plunge the entire world into eternal darkness. Manifested in the form of the Corruption, a dark substance that physically contaminates the land and the skies, the Prince must partner with Elika, a deadly companion, to heal the world from the evil Corruption."

Prince of Persia ships in the US on Dec. 2, 2008 (Dec. 5 across Europe) for the Xbox 360, PC and PS3, along with the NDS-exclusive Prince of Persia: The Fallen King.

Curious to see if Lara lost her touch? Does she still have that spark she had all those years ago? She most certainly does... appearance wise. In fact she looks better than ever. However, there's more about gameplay than gazing at an enticing female body, right? We'd like to think so.

Blizzard Entertainment just announced that the WoW's second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, sold over 2.8 million copies in its first 24h, making it the fastest-selling PC game of all time (so says Blizzard... and they're probably right). Burning Crusade held the previous record with 2.4 million copies sold in 24 h.

Wrath of the Lich King hit stores in North America, Europe, Chile, Argentina and Russia on November 13; Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand on November 14; and South Korea and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau on November 18.

"We're grateful for the incredible support that players around the world have continued to show for World of Warcraft," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Wrath of the Lich King contains some of the best content we’ve created for the game so far, and we look forward to seeing even more players log in to experience it in the days ahead."

Rockstar divulges the info on the GTA IV DLC, scheduled to arrive in February next year. Players can look forward to a new episode -- only for the Xbox 360 version -- which is called "The Lost and Damned." This time around you control a new character named Johnny Klebitz.

"Johnny is a very different character than Niko, with a very different background. I can't go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released. But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City," explaines Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser to USA Today.

"Tons of details and mysteries from the main story get explained, so it will add a lot of color to the main story," adds Houser.

Awesome. Johnny Klebitz sounds like a cool chap to me... well, I like the name anyway.

Well, after the few initial details, we've just received the official word from the folks at Codemasters. DIRT (or EU - Colin McRae: DiRT 2) is now in development for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, NDS and PSP, due for simultaneous release in 2009.

"Colin McRae: DiRT 2 will feature a roster of contemporary off-road events, taking players to the most diverse and challenging real-world environments. This World Tour will have players competing in aggressive multi-car and intense solo races at extraordinary new locations, from canyon racing and jungle trails to city stadium-based events. “Rally has attracted new stars and a new style that makes it more vibrant and exciting than ever before; it’s right up there as a premium extreme sport, attracting fresh crowds and a new confident attitude,” reveals Gavin Raeburn, senior executive producer at Codemasters Studios.

"Colin McRae: DiRT 2’s garage will house a best-in-class collection of officially licensed rally cars and off-road vehicles, specifically selected to deliver aggressive and fast paced racing. Covering seven vehicle classes, players will be given the keys to powerful vehicles right from the off. In Colin McRae: DiRT 2 the opening drive is the Group N Subaru; essentially making the ultimate car from the original game the starting point in the sequel and the rides just get even more impressive."

Development studio DICE is ready to employ NVIDIA PhysX Technology for the PC version of Mirror's Edge.

"On the PC, PhysX technology harnesses the power of CUDA, NVIDIA's general-purpose, parallel-computing architecture, to handle 10-20 times more visual complexity than what's possible without a GeForce CUDA-enabled GPU."

So, how exactly does this affect ATi graphics card owners who want to play Mirror's Edge? They're basically getting a crappier looking game, is that it? Either way it's a fine game on consoles, so the gameplay should be great on PCs no matter which card you own.

It looks like the next DIRT game is on its way. I think most of you will agree that DIRT was a pretty decent racer. Perhaps not the best successor to the CMR series, but it's still a good game. Anyhow, the upcoming new installment is in development at Codemasters and will hit the market some time in 2009. DiRT 2's executive producer Gavin Raeburn said a few words on the subject of the sequel.

"We made key improvements to the EGO engine during the GRID project which lifted the quality of the game to a level we were very happy with. The development team have learnt a lot from the development of GRID, and have strengthened massively in their ability to get the most out of the hardware, notably pushing SPU usage on PS3, improving multi-core performance on Xbox 360 and adding PC specific features and technology, says Raeburn"

He continues: "In DiRT 2, we're building on these changes to the engine, adding more physical modelling of the environment, improving lighting and shadowing, and broadening the use of our streaming system to allow much higher texture detail. Overall these changes mean we are pushing the boundaries of what is possible with the hardware as much as possible, and we're confident in our ability to lift the quality bar again."

I've been very busy lately, mostly looking up Lara Croft's skirt... I mean shorts. She doesn't wear skirts dammit. Shame.

Anyway, a lot of exciting stuff can be found in the world under Lara's shorts (or is it in the underworld of Lara's skirt). Aaaah, I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about. Suffice it to say, she needs to show more cleavage and preferably wear something revealing. Yeeessss, a nice transparent tank top should do the trick... mmmm.
