File Synopsis

Apocalyptica is an innovative gaming experience set in a dark future where mankind sways on the edge of the abyss. Armageddon has been and gone. The Earth, after being the arena for millennia of covert wars between the forces of heaven and hell, finally became the battleground for Satan's last-ditch attempt at the conquest of mankind. So great was the number of souls corrupted, so numerous the sins, that Satan was able to manifest on Earth and he set upon building himself a great army. The faithful fled to the farthest reaches of the Universe and established the colonies of New Babylon, Red Bethlehem, Golgotha the cathedral world and many others. A new order was born to protect the masses from the evil that had so very nearly brought an end to humanity. The Lord's wrath brought Armageddon to Earth in a great cleansing flame, destroying Satan and his followers. More millenia passed and mankind's assembled armies patrolled the Universe against the day when Satan might return. He had not been idle. Reborn from the flames as Neo-Satan, he gathered about him the remains of the souls of humanity and set about building an army, vowing to avenge himself. He declared the Earth as a new outpost of Hell and was thus renamed as Nu-Hades.

The player assumes the role of one of four technologically advanced, yet medievally religious soldiers, leading a team of diverse characters in an epic quest to destroy Neo-Satan and his legions. Played from a third-person perspective, Apocalyptica contains elements of shoot-'em-ups, beat-'em-ups and intense team-based action, played in elaborate levels full of gothic sci-fi architecture.

The demo features the whole first level and two playable characters.
