File Synopsis

Historians from England will say that I am a liar. But history is written by those who have hung heroes.

The King of Scotland had died without a son, and the King of England, a cruel pagan known as Edward the Longshanks, claimed the throne for himself. Scotland's nobles fought him, and fought each other, over the crown."

It is 1296, the land of Scotland is in a state of chaos. The noble clans feud and argue over the petty squabbles of land ownership while the English push incessantly northward toward total domination of the Scottish race.

Scotland waits for a uniting force to begin its fight against invasion and persecution. William Wallace is one of many who could rally to your banner to fight the aggressor. However, other Scottish nobles have a similar inclination towards the vacant crown of Scotland. The balance of power is a tenuous one.

Braveheart™ is a freeform campaign game. As such it is not based on levels of set missions. 13th Century Scotland is represented by the rolling hills, many towns and ranks of fierce warriors. Exactly how these three interact with one another is entirely at the hands of the player using a in depth management interface on both the Clan and individual town levels.

A lost battle is not necessarily a lost war. A victory not necessarily a foot closer to the final goal.

Scotland is a living environment where towns, wars and plagues will evolve over time. Nobles will rise and fall as the years pass by and alliances will be made and broken. This is not a weekend war, the campaign may well be a long and bloody one, but destiny lies in the players' hands alone.
