| » All About Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun on ActionTrip | |
Tiberian Sun is the stunning sequel to Command & Conquer. Set in the near future, GDI and the Brotherhood of Nod continue their epic battle with high-tech advanced weaponry, 3D dynamic terrain, immersive graphics and highly addictive game play in solo and multi-play modes.
Tiberian Sun showcases a few enhancements to the Command and Conquer engine, like dynamic lighting and kinetic battlefield explosions, but veterans of the previous games will not notice anything revolutionary. There is no 3D acceleration, which after much thought I have decided is a good thing. Leaving 3D out makes the game accessible to just about anyone with a computer, which is certainly a plus for Westwood, who would like to see Tiberian Sun reach the 10 million mark in sales that the original Command and Conquer achieved over several platforms. The graphics are certainly better than the original, especially when the dynamic lighting is taken into account, though the primary units themselves leave a bit to be desired. In some ways, they look worse than the original. This seems odd, but it doesn't take away from the game as a whole.
The demo features two brand new levels of Tiberian Sun. The first mission is a tutorial about how to play T-Sun. The second mission gives you a heavy dose of C&C action.
