File Synopsis

You are a seaworthy Corsair devoted to his nation. Control the actions of up to 30 of your men in real time. You sail off to conquer the new world. Overcome hoards of Pirates. Improve buildings such as the lighthouse to see enemies further away.

With different missions during which you sail around the Caribbean, the Madagascar region, along the coast of Asia until you finally reach Australia. You will build and control an entire armada, fight in unfriendly seas, win over new trading posts, negotiate with new territories for personal enrichment, foil the plans of other nations, and overcome the hoards of pirates sailing the seas. You will meet infamous people through battles or because of their cruelty (such as Surcouf or the terrifying Blackbeard).

Through extensive research through maritime, cinematography, and history archives, Corsairs accurately reflects the "look and feel" of this exciting period in nautical adventures. Corsairs offers innovative gameplay compared to games dealing with similar subjects:

  • The excitement of experiencing the boarding and capture of enemy vessels.
  • The thrill of capturing new trading posts through skill and cunning.
  • The skill to maneuver your ship while at the mercy of the wind.
  • The option of using different types of fighting vessels.
  • The challenge of keeping your crew under control while you capture treasures and divide the loot among your vessels.
  • The need to protect your nation's trading posts either by paying for improved defenses or by mooring ships there.
  • The sinister chance to hire spies and ships in neutral trading posts. And many more...

For king and country, and perhaps a wee bit of personal gain..., you will battle storms and skirt reefs, with a fleet of ships under your command. Prove your mettle in battle against ten or more enemy galleons, coordinating a cannon assault without getting blown out of the water. Through dense fog and moonless nights, ensnare and board enemy ships with your men, wielding flintlock pistols and sabers. Recruit and deploy sneak thieves to infiltrate enemy ships and slit enemy throats. Explore strange, uncharted lands. Dole out the spoils of war to re-supply your ships, pay for services rendered, and award these boys their rightful share of the loot. Stash away your booty in a secure treasure trove.
