File Synopsis

Never liked racing by the rules? Out-speeding, out-cornering or outwitting your competitors is not your idea of having fun? Time to get down and dirty.

Do it the Excessive Speed way: shoot them, freeze them, blow them into pieces! Dont want to race against five other cars? Release your rockets into the crowd!

You're here to win, and nothing can stop you, except perhaps your opponents. It may be dirty pool, but hey, everyone has the same loaded cue stick, and if youre not careful, your participation in the race will be solely spiritual as your car explodes into pieces on the track. And don't forget, theres one advantage to being behind your opponents on the race course - they can be awfully easy targets!

Excessive Speed will take the popular genre of 2D action racing games to the next level! High resolution graphics, support for MMX technology, and 4-player splitscreen multiplay combine to leave Excessive Speed's would-be competition in the dust.

Chaos Works and Ganymede Technologies, the developers of Excessive Speed, are highly talented development teams based in Cracow, Poland. Chaos Works have previously developed the award-winning game FireFight for Epic Megagames and Electronic Arts, while Ganymede Technologies is a new game development company founded by the producer and main developer of Earth 2140, a real-time strategy game that was published by TopWare and Interplay.

Excessive Speed will be smashing it's way onto store shelves across Europe late Nov ember 1998.

Your objective is simple: You must WIN, using any and every method at your disposal, fair or (usually) foul. As you violently battle your way around the tracks while bumping into walls, other cars, or make your acquaintance with landmines, your vehicle will take damage. Reach zero, and youre out of the game bigtime as your vehicle explodes into flames. During your frenzied laps, youll see various power-ups randomly strewn here and there that will help you out, if you can grab them before anyone else, that is.

Among the power-ups you'll be battling your rivals to get are... Missiles (both standard and heat seeking,) Rear Shot, Freeze Gun, Turbo Jumping Ability, Oil Slicks, Earthquakes, Tornados.
