| » All About Final Fantasy 7 on ActionTrip | |
This is where the story of Final Fantasy VII begins. It seems that an evil power company called Shinra, Inc. has found a way to mine the planet's life energy, draining it from the planet and using it to control the universe.
Fortunately, a resistance organization know as AVALANCHE, has vowed to put an end to Shinra's destructive practices.
The story focuses on Cloud, an ex-soldier of Shinra, who teams up with AVALANCHE, and along the way, encounters some very mysterious and powerful allies who help him fight against the deadly creatures Shinra has created to protect its empire.
You, as the game player, will decide their fate.
Featuring seamless 3D gameplay and animation, Final Fantasy VII contains hundreds of pre-rendered, computer-generated backgrounds and features real-time battles, vast map screens, and a complex and engrossing storyline.
Battle Systems
The new battle system that makes FF VII different
from previous RPGs involves the Limit Break Command
and using Materia. The Limit gauge starts to fill
up with each successful attack from an enemy. Once
the gauge is full, each character can perform their
unique attack (Limit Break). Materia (Mako crystals)
are magic orbs packed with ancient skills and knowledge.
Special abilities become available to the equipped
character. You won't believe what the Summon Monster
(called by using random Summon Materia) can do!
Mini Games
You're going to have some fun in between the strained
battles by playing adventurous games at Gold Saucer.
There's a total of seven attractions, from top-of-the-line
roller coasters to betting games, arcade-type games
and haunted mansions. Of course the games are not
free - but you'll also have a chance to win prizes
and gain GP (money to play around in the park). Just
pretend that you're at one of those theme parks and
go for it!
The Final Fantasy VII demo is a standalone demonstration of the battle system of Final Fantasy VII. The demo will put you directly into the Battle Arena area of the game; you will have to win a series of battles in order to "win" the demo. In the Battle Arena, you will control Cloud, the main character in Final Fantasy VII. Use your sword, magic spells, and other combat techniques to prevail. Be sure to read the readme file for more information.
Note: This is the official demo for the game. There was another Final Fantasy VII 120MB demo circulating the Web, but that was a different demo completely. This official one drops you right into the fray to sample the game's battle system firsthand.
* Supported 3D accelerator cards: 3Dfx Voodoo Graphics, Voodoo Rush, Voodoo 2, 3D Labs Permedia 2, ATI Rage Pro, Intel i740, Matrox G200, and Second Generation PowerVR.
