| » All About Oort: Cloud Nine on ActionTrip | |
Oort: Cloud Nine is a fast paced shoot'em up, in which you take the role of phoenix, the one man sent to the out skirts of the Oort/Kupier Cloud in search of answers to why the Earth is continually bombarded with asteroids. The journey out to the cloud gives intriguing details as to the origins of the asteroids, namely an alien race (the Cron (cron daemon perhaps.. he he) ) bent on human destruction and the acquisitions of earth. Oort: Cloud Nine Utilizes current technology to bring the old "Asteroids" back to life with a twist. Mathmatically correct physics, particle systems and collisions help to enforce the suspension of disbelief of the game. Couple this with stunning high resolution models, textures and sounds as well as the innate need of humans to better themselves (high scores) this game is sure to captivate for hours on end.
This game is based on the "Crabbe Engine", a 3d engine that was written by myself to facilitate the creation of this game. However, it was written in an extensible/modifyable manner (as all good 3d engines should be) so that the creation of any other game with this engine would be possible.
