| » All About Plane Crazy on ActionTrip | |
Tired of the roads?
Then take to the skies with Plane Crazy, a soaring aerial speed-fest in which only the most daring and courageous pilots will survive to win the day.
Published by Europress and developed by Inner Workings, Plane Crazy is a fantastic twist on the traditional racing genre, offering a breakneck turn of speed, a range of daredevil stunts and a dash of wacky humour!
From the hangar, players can either take part in a time trial or quick race, or can compete in a full five course championship, earning cash by getting the fastest checkpoint times and of course winning. The money is then used to buy plane upgrades and pay the entrance fee into the next race.
Each of the five courses has it's own theme. Monument Rush, for example, features steep ravines and wide canyons interspersed with Pueblo villages, rivers, waterfalls and rock formations. Border Dash, on the other hand, is set in open desert dotted with small towns and forests of oil derricks, while City Run is a maze of Skyscrapers, road tunnels and freeways.
In Docklands, you'll whoosh past cargo ships, loading cranes and belching oil refineries, while in complete contrast, Rain Forest takes you into the clouds and features dense forest, fiery volcanoes and twisting river trails to follow.
Once you've powered up the throttle, you'll soon be racing neck and neck with your fellow Aces, collecting the bonuses scattered around the the courses which will give you speed boosts, shield and power downs, enabling you to take pot-shots at your rivals. You can also take seconds off your race times if you find the hidden shortcuts included in each courses.
The challenges presented to the player vary from course to course, and the vertical freedom afforded by the game's theme is used to dizzying effect. One minute you'll be soaring skywards to avoid being smashed on a girder, the next you'll be diving deep into a narrow fissure in an attempt to grab a vital power-up. And to make matters even more nerve-wracking, there are pockets of air turbulence to avoid too.
In addition, Plane Crazy enables up to eight players to assume the role of a Crazy Ace and fly head-to-head over either a Local Area Network, a Wide Area Network or the Internet. And uniquely, you'll be able to play Plane Crazy in the arcades as well, as Inner Workings is working on a coin-op version of the game. Plane Crazy employs Inner Workings' incredible Fearsome(R) 3D engine to generate highly-realistic 3D environments that move at a blistering pace.
When combined with Plane Crazy's phenomenal playability and superb control system, the result is a tense, exhilarating race experience that is unparalleled on either PC or Playstation.
This is a playable demo of Monument Rush - course 3 of 5. Demo has Single Player & Multi-Player on HEAT.NET, LAN & TCP/IP on one course called "Border Dash".
