| » All About Requiem: Avening Angel on ActionTrip | |
This is a 3D first-person shooter, but it is not just an aim-and-shoot type of game, since the plot is integrated into the game. You'll have to speak and interact with a number of third-party characters to gain information, acquire needed items, or get past certain obstacles.
Features
A first person shooter of Biblical proportions. You're
Malachi, a Chosen angel who descends to Earth to stop
Hell's legions from destroying mankind. What's so
special about Requiem: Avenging Angel™?
Incredible Action.
Requiem brings first person shooting action to a new
level. Enemies are intelligent: they know where you
are, they come and find you, and there are a whole
lot of them.
Angelic Powers.
You're an angel! Enjoy your God-given gifts, including
angelic powers such as, Bloodboil, Resurrect, Possession,
Lightning and Turn to Salt.
Realistic Worlds.
Requiem features realistic, functional worlds, from
powerplants to prisons, and cities under seige to
Hell itself. What's more, the environments are populated
with 3D, real-time characters that interact with Malachi,
and help him in his mission.
Requiem: Avenging Angel™'s technology has been a labor of love for the last 2.5 years. Underneath the beautiful architecture, art, and animation, lies:
The developers have focused on creating shadows, explosions, and real time lighting effects that are more detailed than any first-person shooter on the market.
The animation engine uses quaternions and cubic polynomials to achieve the smoothest animations possible and to be able to interpolate between any two moments (i.e., not necessarily key frames) of any two animations. The technology allows storage of dozens or even hundreds more animations due to their compact nature (5k to 15k each for most) and because the artists didn't have to create most transition animations.
The artificial intelligence system has taken about two years to develop and allows for everything from complex dialogue and other interactions to squad-level collaborative attacks, to duck-and-cover tactics.
For those users without a 3D accelerator, the custom-built software rasterizer is still beautiful, and you don't have to suffer a poor frame rate.
The self-perpetuating nature of the Requiem environment required a robust engine that was built from scratch. The proprietary Emotive Animation Technology (EAT Engine) enables incredibly realistic character animations, a limitless number of world textures and objects, and a blazingly fast frame rate.
Requiem will be one of the first games customized specifically for VooDoo 2, the next-generation of 3Dfx chip-sets.
Did you spend 2 hours downloading our 'Sneak-Peek' only to find yourself longing for more Requiem: Avenging Angel™? This interactive demo of the exciting 3D first person shooter Requiem: Avenging Angel contains 3 different difficulty levels. You won't be disappointed with this one.
