| » All About Shadow Company: Left for Dead on ActionTrip | |
Ethnic and political tensions flare, terrorism is rampant worldwide, while third-world military dictators and malicious corporations hire anyone willing to fight for their cause. You work for Granite, a private company that hires out mercenaries like yourself to execute these dirty deeds and today is the fist day of the rest of your life.
Today you find yourself en route to Africa for a contract job. But the whole operation has been botched from the beginning and things are getting worse. Your team suffers massive casualties, munitions are low and as you and your squad retreat toward the extraction point you realize your worst fears have finally come true: Granite has pulled out, your support team is gone, and you have been left for dead.
Powered by a proprietary 3D engine, Shadow Company is a revolutionary real-time tactical combat game, coming spring 1999 from Interactive Magic. Shadow Company immerses players in the mysterious world of cutthroat mercenaries, with photo-realistic game environments, incredible graphics and addictive game play. Shadow Company will be gunning for you.
Unlike previous RTS games, where players command faceless, nameless units, Shadow Company puts you in control of sixteen mercenaries -- each with their own unique personality and skill sets. These mercenaries come from all walks of life, each with a rich diverse background and individual character AI and voice sets. For example Lewis Underwood, an Irish soldier, has excellent leadership skills, while other mercenaries have specialized weapon and vehicle skills. All the mercenaries have different combat strengths as well - in addition they can also crawl, crouch, climb and jump.
Shadow Company features 9 non-linear campaigns -- each takes place in an exotic third-world locale. In each campaign you have a variety of objectives to complete, to pull off these missions, Shadow Company has a wide arsenal of weapons and vehicles at their command. Weapons include pistols, rifles, shotguns, grenades, explosives, cannons, and knives - just to name a few. Vehicles and equipment ready for Shadow Company include snowmobiles, boats, helicopters, small planes, cars, tanks and more.
For each successfully completed campaign, the player is awarded monetary compensation and more of the storyline is revealed. As the story continues to unfold, players are wrapped up in a thickening plot, rich with elements of revenge and conspiracy.
