File Synopsis

The following issues have been addressed with this patch.

  • The lag in multiplayer games should be decreased. As well, an additional option has been added when playing a multiplayer game
  • Motion Smoothing. Turning this on should improve the lag as well.
  • The AI forechecking has been improved for both even strength situations and on CPU powerplays.
  • The AI defence now recognizes 2on2 and 1on1 situations and will position the defenders better.
  • The AI defence will now attack the puck carrier more - as well defenders who are not covering the puck carrier but are in the vicinity of him, will attempt checks more often.
  • The goalies will now position themselves better for in-close shots. This means that the "cut across the net", "wrap around", and "modified Genesis deke" goals are a LOT less frequent. As well, the "hard shot from along the boards and trickling in" goal will also be a LOT less frequent.
  • A new option has been added to the Controller Setup screen - Hitting Power. This option affects how often players will get knocked down from a body check. At High, body checks result in the player being knocked down the majority of the time. At medium, body checks will knock down players less, causing the player to stumble instead. At low, body checks will rarely cause players to get knocked down.
  • The number of penalty shots awarded in a game has been decreased.
  • Passes now have more of a chance to be intercepted or deflected from its intended path. This affects Pro and All Star levels. In Pro, the intercept/deflect chance is bumped up a bit. In All Star, even more.
  • Backhand shots should now be a lot less accurate.
  • Injury occurrences during gameplay have been decreased.
  • The players not fatiguing enough in Pro Level has been fixed. Also, in All Star, players will fatigue faster than before.
  • A problem where some 3D cards that support resolutions over 800x600 were not being allowed to go over this resolution has been fixed. This means that Voodoo2 SLI, Banshee, and several other 3D cards will now be able to go over 800x600.
  • Commissioners in Season, Tournament, and Playoffs now have access to the team based Player and Goalie boost sliders. You can now adjust the boost sliders separately for each team in these modes, instead of only being able to adjust these sliders globally.
  • 3Dsetup now recognized PowerVR 250 chipsets.
  • A few language errors in the Finnish version of the game has been fixed.
  • A few of the arena chants that were swapped with each other have been fixed.
