Civ V Creator Joins Stardock
As you probably know by now, Jon Shafer, lead designer of Civilization V, has left the development studio Firaxis. News just reached us (via Big Download) that the designer joined the developer Stardock, the makers of titles such as Galactic Civilizations and Elemental: War of Magic.

Electronic Arts and EA Maxis confirmed there will be four new Spore-releated games released during 2009. The first is Spore: Galactic Adventures, an expansion pack, which aims to offer a "deeper variety of gameplay" based around Spore's space stage.

Spore Specs Uncovered
Maxis' life creation sim Spore has just received its official system requirements, as revealed by Electronic Arts. Spore is scheduled to hit the market for the PC and Mac on September 7 this year - a Nintendo DS version is also coming and they're calling it Spore Creatures.

Feast your eyes on the latest footage from Will Wright's Spore: God bless Will Wright. Spore looks sweet and all that. However, the one thing giving me that nice, warm feeling inside, is the music playing in the background - it's one of the tunes from SimCity 4: Rush Hour; that was an awesome game (still playing it from time to time).
