Civ V Creator Joins Stardock
As you probably know by now, Jon Shafer, lead designer of Civilization V, has left the development studio Firaxis. News just reached us (via Big Download) that the designer joined the developer Stardock, the makers of titles such as Galactic Civilizations and Elemental: War of Magic.

The official dev. diary for Stardock's Galactic Civilizations II, reveals that the space strategy has gone gold and is scheduled to ship on Feb. 21. Incidentally, Galactic Civilizations was always too much for my taste, and I never really had the patience for it.
