Vivendi is thanking the Gods for Blizzard it seems, as the Burning Crusade phenomenon doubles their quarterly earnings to $392.5 million. VU Games, a relatively struggling publisher before World of Warcraft, was by and large (and quite literally) saved by Blizzard's gigantic MMO franchise.

Universal Buys Movie Rights to "Gods of War" Game
Comingsoon.net is reporting: "Universal Pictures has secured the movie rights to video game God of War, created by Sony Computer Entertainment. Mosaic Media Group's Charles Roven and Alex Gartner will produce the feature adaptation, says Variety.
