At first, the info was regarded as a rumor, but a bunch of people at Obsidian Entertainment have confirmed it, including Anthony Davis, Rob McGinnis and Marketing/PR producer Matthew Rorie.

Actually, this is good news. If there is anything I dread about Neverwinter Nights 2 is that Obsidian would release an unfinished product. Judging from the latest (relatively minor) delay, both Atari and Obsidian are making sure they playtest their product right.

I just received the updated Atari Product Lineup which has NeverWinter Nights 2 listed as a spring 2006 release. The sequel is under development by Feargus Urquhart and the folks at his company Obsidian Entertainment, who are also working on Knights of the Old Republic 2.

Bioware's New Engine and Neverwinter Nights Platinum
Bioware has registered its new engine with the patent office but they won't tell us what its for yet. There is a theory however that it is either for a new unnamed project or Neverwinter Nights 2, as both engines are named after astronomical phenomenon.
