Universal Buys Movie Rights to "Gods of War" Game
Comingsoon.net is reporting: "Universal Pictures has secured the movie rights to video game God of War, created by Sony Computer Entertainment. Mosaic Media Group's Charles Roven and Alex Gartner will produce the feature adaptation, says Variety.

Total War on Consoles
Even Creative Assembly is trying to hop on the console bandwagon. They're making a console spin-off of their well known Total War PC RTS series. The first game will be called Spartan: Total War: While CA's Total War games emphasized the player as commander (the General), Spartan: Total Warrior puts the player in control of a heroic warrior.

Awesome stuff. You can now download and add a Spartan unit to Creative Assembly's Rome: Total War on the game's official site. These guys (Spartans) would only return from the battle with their shield or on it, never without it -- that's what made them such ferocious and well-respected warriors.
