Spore Gets Dated
It looks like we know when Spore will hatch. (Do spore hatch?) EA announces that Sep. 7 is the date. Which marks another delay for the game. Will Wright's long-in-the-making first big franchise after The Sims is still generating a lot of buzz of course, so I doubt this one will ever mutate into vaporware as Wired has suggested a while back.

EA Partners' Nick Button-Brown believes that European developers have shown more creativity than US studios. He claims North American teams are focused on earning money with each project, rather than taking chances and making efforts towards innovation (*cough* *cough* The Sims, anyone?).

I must say, for all of Will Wright's geniusness (I can't believe Google spell check actually recognizes this word), Spore looks like a magnified, Disneyfied version of the shit you'd find on the inside rim of your toilet seat (you could say that the title is a dead giveaway).

Waiting a Bit More for Spore
Spore gets another major delay and is now likely not to hit stores before March 2008: EA posted a wider quarterly loss on Tuesday and forecast fiscal-2008 adjusted profit below expectations, saying its widely anticipated video game, "Spore," could be delayed.
