Violent Games Blamed for German School Attack
The violence and video game hysteria starts all over again in Germany (and it has never stopped really), as Reuters is reporting that leading German lawmakers demanded a crackdown on violent computer and simulated war games on Tuesday over concerns that they may have helped inspire a young man to attack his former school with guns and explosives.

Total War on Consoles
Even Creative Assembly is trying to hop on the console bandwagon. They're making a console spin-off of their well known Total War PC RTS series. The first game will be called Spartan: Total War: While CA's Total War games emphasized the player as commander (the General), Spartan: Total Warrior puts the player in control of a heroic warrior.

EIDOS has just sent us some new grisly-looking shots from their upcoming Nam shooter, ShellShock Nam'67. The developers are claiming this one will not shy away from accurately depicting the true, gruesome nature of the Vietnam conflict, and as such should be different from other Vietnam war games.

Talk about a low-key E3 announcement. Are they even looking to promote this one at all? Anyhow, it seems that EIDOS and Crystal Dynamics (the guys behind the Soul Reaver series) are working on a new military FPS "grounded in a believable, relevant near future setting, in a war as seen through the eyes of a hero.
