Quake Wars Patch to Bring Full Voice Comm. Support
Splash Damage's team-based multiplayer shooter, Quake Wars, seems to be doing all right for itself. The general consensus amongst fans and in the media is that the game does a good job of forcing people to work together, something that was Splash's design trademark in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

You may not know the name but you know Splash Damage’s work if you downloaded and played Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, the hugely popular (and free) stand alone multiplayer shooter based on Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

Saw over at Bluesnews.com that a new version of ET Pro is now available, updating the Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory competition mod to version 2.0.5. "ET Pro is a mod specifically targeted at competition play, with features specifically designed for administration of competition servers.

Here's some news from Activision: Today we're planning on releasing the Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory 1.02 patch. ... I haven't gotten an ETA yet on when the patch will be available, but if history is any indication I expect it to be late in the afternoon PST.

Activision and Gray Matter Studios have released a test map for the new Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory free multiplayer expansion (103MB). Naturally, that doesn't mean that you'll be able to play the expansion without an original game (how would they make any money otherwise), so bear that in mind please.
