Alan Wake PC Official, First Shot Released

Once a rumor, now a reality. Remedy Entertainment has officially confirmed the development of the PC edition of their psychological thriller, Alan Wake, which was 360-exclusive up until now.

The game is scheduled to hit stores in "early 2012," featuring both 'The Signal' and 'The Writer' downloadable content add-ons that already available for the Xbox 360 version.

Well, this is very good news indeed. Although Alan Wake didn't quite live up to expectations, it was still a solid game. We're glad Remedy is finally bringing this one to PC gamers (and that they've included the DLC).

Thanks Shack, for the scoop. Oh and check out the high-res version of the first screenshot.

UPDATE: Here's more info about the game, from the press release of the PC edition: "Alan Wake tells the story of a best-selling writer suffering from writer’s block. He goes on vacation to the small town of Bright Falls with his wife, Alice, to gain back his creative flow. Shortly upon arrival, Wake finds himself trapped in a nightmare when his wife mysteriously goes missing. He keeps finding pages of a manuscript he apparently wrote, but can’t remember writing. The manuscript is coming true. An involving psychological action thriller, Alan Wake raises the bar in storytelling and creating a suspenseful cinematic experience."

Just a few more games and I don't need to use the shitbox anymore.

Completed first two chapters on xbucks and liked it a lot. If they don't charge more than 25$ for this then they'll have a happy customer :)
Seems like Remedy finally figured out that modern PCs have TV-out ports

No thanks. They originally hyped it as a PC game, then got bullied by MS to make it Xbox 'exclusive'. They can eat it. Fable is in the same boat for me.

They can suck my dick after all the drama queenage surrounding the originally planned then cancelled PC version. No thanks, assholes. You can shove your Alan Wake where the sun don't shine (unless I have ripped your guts out that is)...

I'll play this. But I reserve my right to bitch endlessly about the drama surrounding the PC version, and the fact that it was kind of a let down anyway.

I liked it on Xbox tbh. I wont buy it a second time, but I'd recommend it to anyone who appreciates immersion.... for the right price, that is. If they release it as a full priced new game then to hell with it.
