Blizzard Bans Over 5,000 StarCraft 2 Players

Blizzard Entertainment has already warned cheaters in the company's new real-time strategy to take heed and play nicely. Well, they've had it apparently.

The official word from Blizzard goes: "We recently took action, including suspensions and bans, on over 5,000 StarCraft II players who were in violation of the Battle.net Terms of Use for cheating and/or using hack programs while playing. In addition to undermining the spirit of fair competition that’s essential to play on Battle.net, cheating and hacking can lead to stability and performance issues with the service. Maintaining a stable, safe, and secure online-gaming experience for legitimate players is a top priority for us, and we'll be continuing to keep watch on Battle.net and take action as needed."

Nasty old cheaters. Serves you right!

How pathetic are these gamers? Cheating and Hacking in an online game is ridiculous, and it takes the fun away. I'm glad Blizzard banned some of these idiots!

Terminatard, you had to spoil this great thread with your nonsense. People are gonna cheat everywhere, anywhere, every chance they get. Be smart and do it yourself.
Roland19: Are you an angry 12 year old?
Terminator: Nah, Stardust is at least 18. Too bad he ACTS like a 12 year...
im_stardust: No, no, I am 12 and I am angry. So, what's the problem?

How many are those who were banned from the forum for vigorously complaining that BOTH of the game's patches were shit and created more problems then they actually fixed.

I was banned because the updater went into an endless download loop several times and I ( as well as others who don't constantly have an internet connection) STILL can't play offline without GOD DAMNED LOGGING ONTO B.NET FIRST! That's total bullshit!

I haven't tried to see if I'm banned from playing on b.net as well, but I'll let you know when I can.

EDIT: I just checked and I can log onto b.net to play, but was immediately dropped. I know it's not my internet connection, so I recommend to everyone NOT to but this shitty game until Blizzard get their ass in gear and fixes ALL THE DAMNED PROBLEMS!

I've had zero issues with this game and may I add cheating in online games really is self defeating I mean your cheating to win but by cheating your a loser. How can anyone derive any sense of satisfaction from that? :-/
MajFauxPas [mail] Oct 01 2010, 01:24 pm EDT
So they don't ban cheaters one by one as they are found cheating, they wait until they can ban 50,000 at once. Great. Enjoy the next two weeks before they come back.

So what's next? arresting people for breaking the law in Need for Speed

5000 is a drop in the piss bucket. 50,000 would impress me. 150,000 would be Microsoft-ban-tastic.

Ban! Ban! Ban!

They should require in their TOS that all online players have webcams hooked up, so that Blizz can WATCH you while you play to make SURE you're not cheating! Or jacking it. Jacking while playing Starcraft 2 is a ban-able offense. Women (hot women only, please) are allowed to masturbate while playing Starcraft 2 though, and the best videos will be posted. If you're a hot babe, and love to fingerblast it while playing Starcraft 2, you could win the "Starcraft 2 Hot Slut" achievement.

Good times.
