Wow, those are VERY hefty system requriements. Can't wait to see how my HD 7950 handles the game!

Well, you can always upgrade. On second thought better save your money for food.

*pfff*

Ever since Crytek went the way of the console (not that that's bad, per se, but the way Crytek went about it? Bad.), the games have lost any kind of benchmark status - as long as you can scrape along with a video card that has 512MBs of RAM (like the consoles), you'll be fine.

As far as the system RAM goes, who *really* has less than 4GBs of RAM? Hell, 8GBs costs ~$45 US. It might as well come free in a cereal box. ;)

Lastly, who's still got a gaming rig kickin' it with a Core2Duo or Athlon X2? A current-gen Corei5 goes for $200, and a Vishera-gen AMD quad-core goes for $125. Not outrageous.

An HD5770 for the GPU is far and away the highest *minimum* GPU requirement I've personally seen for a game this generation.

Btw, Fester, I don't even think there are any 512mb GPUs that support DX11, are there? Decent DX11 support is probably the true baseline requirement. The amount of onboard memory is perhaps just a circumstantial corollary to that.

"Decent DX11 support is probably the true baseline requirement."

This. That's all this is about. The earliest DX11 capable GPU is the only requirement.

I just hope that they actually take advantage of the technology this time instead of the amazingly sloppy job they did of applying the new DX11 features in Crysis 2.

Fucking consoles dragging down system requirements. It's not Crysis if it doesn't require 3x 7970s to run at 20 FPS on 800x600.
