Cyberpunk 2077 - The World of Cyberpunk

Cyberpunk 2077, from CD Projekt, appears to be getting a lot of attention these days. Recently we've noticed that a lot of people may not agree with the concept of naming a game after a genre (steampunk, cyberpunk and the like). Hm, on the other hand, that's probably not as weird and stupid as naming a game 'RPG'.

Whatever the case, you will no doubt enjoy what this guy has to say on the subject of the upcoming title, Cyberpunk 2077:

Oh I seeeeeeeeeeeeee. Cyberpunk 2013 then Cyberpunk 2020 are tabletop RPGs from 20 years ago and CD Projekt is doing a game on it. Ooooooooohhhh. I didn't know that. Ooooooooooohhhhhh.
CD Projekt loves to pick up niche IPs eh.

Man, that guy has my blood pumping. This game will be a nice addition to my Sci-Fi collection :)

I already love this dude.

And this looks really promising, I just hope that it won't follow the path of Dishonored.

I'm actually from the bunch that used to play CP religiously. Shadowrun too, for that mater; but while Shadowrun had an overall better dice system and character options (What do you expect from the guys who developed Batletech/MechWarrior?) CP always emphasized 'style over substance'; it was actually one of the game's taglines - and this guy was a big reason that it actually came through in the game as opposed to just being some random company motto. Sure it's a 20-30 year old IP, but if they do this right (and I think it will given the fact that there were so many references in the teaser trailer to the original game - for example, one of the posters is Alt; a signature character from the original game who's mind broke free in the 'net and was still running around after her body died. It's a pretty typical trope nowadays, but remember this was back in the 80s) it could be both freaking amazing, and the kind of thing that could be exceptionally long running - after all, they were releasing new material for it up until just a few years ago.
