Cyberpunk 2077 Will Feature Multiplayer

According to a recent interview posted at Eurogamer, CD Projekt intends to incorporate a multiplayer mode into their upcoming title, Cyberpunk 2077.

"It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we're going to add multiplayer features," says CD Projekt RED managing director Adam Badowski.

Have a look at the lovely cinematic teaser for Cyberpunk 2077 and a rather cool dev. diary.

Oh and don't forget that CD Projekt are also working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Check out the recently posted details about the game, as well as some high-res screenshots.

I just see it as the beginning of there decline. It starts somewhere when success, and ambition combined with trying to maximize profits.

You lose site of what made people love your games.

Look at all the developers under the large publishers. I can't wait for reality to hit them as there promising the moon with there next two games.

It sucks when developers tack multi-player onto single player games. The multi-player mode is usually a mess, and it takes time away from polishing the Single Player mode.

Goodbye quality single-player experience.

I'm not worried about something as relatively trivial as this. It's entirely possible to tack on multiplayer without it harming the single-player whatsoever, particularly since it's usually done by a completely different team deliberately set aside from the SP team. I mean, I don't PREFER that a game does this, but it really isn't that big of deal when it happens... certainly not the big deal certain AT patrons here make it out to be because of their innate social misanthropy.

WHAT I *AM* WORRIED ABOUT, HOWEVER, is a completely unrelated issue, which it surprises me none of you are voicing (much more reasonable) concern about:

How is it that CD Projekt is suddenly able to develop two triple-A RPGs at the exact same time?

The question raises the issue of the 'how', and the 'how' raises the issue of what worries me... the only way CD Projekt could develop both Cyberpunk and Witcher 3 simultaneously is if A.) they've split their allocated talent pool in half to do both games, which equates to trying to do more with less, or B.) one or both of these games' dev-teams are staffed by A LOT of new hires for whom we can't look at Witcher 1 and 2 as proof of their ability.

Either way, it's a red flag.
