let me point out a few flaws just from the video.

- dantes inferno / moral choices ? NO.
- hell / absolve...."punish" ? NO. (how the fuck do you punish someone in hell)
- baby monsters... Doom3 did that already. (and if im not mistaken, its universally agreed that babies go to 'heaven')


this game is turning out to be a blessing in disguise.

Seriously, Vodoo, that is indeed what made me giggle the most. How the hell does Mistah Dante have the power to punish and absolve souls that have already been dealt with by "God Himself?" In fact, it seems like whether you punish or absolve them, you're getting rid of them, right? So what happens to a dead person who is already dead AND in the after-life? Is their soul destroyed forever? So...killing them or absolving them is saving them either way. I think all the monsters would just stand there and let you chop them down, if that were the case. That makes absolutely no sense. It seems like when they were punished, there must have been fine print "You will suffer for ALLLLL ETERNITYYYYYY!......unless a random poet/warrior-priest comes in and kills, and subsequently saves you, even though you tried to eat his eyes in the hopes that it would rid you of the darkness that you now see.

You know, what's really irritating is that the game really doesn't look half bad. The actual cross mechanics seem pretty neat, though the Scythe wielding seems a little half-assed (who the hell would ever do a vertical chop into the ground with a scythe? That's not going to fuck it up at all...). They should have put more effort into broad, sweeping motions that pull your character around with momentum, the way a scythe actually works. Clearly they've never wielded one, and certainly not one that freakin' top heavy.

Mythology of all sorts can be extremely entertaining. When it gets scary is when people actually believe rivers of boiling blood, demons, possession, resurrected zombie gods, and the like are real. Those individuals are far more creepy.

An observation though.. if one is dead, they obviously have no functioning nerve endings. They have no pain center. They have no active brain. So hell must be nothing more than a house of horrors without teeth. After a while the cackling demons, evil ghosts, and dragging of chains must certainly become a complete joke. A demon goes BOO! The so-called fallen beings just laugh back "Dude, go shove a femur up your ass or something and entertain yourself.. I'm busy hanging out in the sauna with my bitches"

Way too much like God of War but it does have the 60 fps going for it, which makes the combat look halfway decent. But regardless, this game is either gonna be okay or will suck something fierce.
