Diablo 3 Beta is Live, Game in Final Stages of Development

Blizzard Entertainment, the mother of all developers, has revealed that the Diablo 3 beta has gone live and, well, here's the official word:

"The fiery gates leading to the Burning Hells have begun to swing open, and the Diablo III beta test is officially underway. Invitations to participate in the beta test are now being delivered to the chosen heroes. As with beta tests for other Blizzard Entertainment games, the testing process for Diablo III will occur in phases. In addition to selecting players who have opted in via their Battle.net accounts, we’ll also be providing keys through beta promotions and giveaways -- stay tuned for more info. We welcome those invited to provide feedback or report bugs on the official forums," says Blizz.

"This closed beta test is an important milestone for us as we enter the final stages of development on Diablo III," said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime.

"Our goal is to create the best action role-playing game experience to date, building on everything we've learned since the release of Diablo II and incorporating the powerful features of the new Battle.net platform. We hope players enjoy participating in the beta test and we look forward to hearing their feedback."

Diablo 3 on the horizon, eh? Oh wait, it's just the damn, beta. Oh well, still more to go until they release the full version. Don't forget you're gonna need a constant Internet connection to play the game.

Just finish the game and release it already. 12 years of waiting that stuff better be damn near perfect.

They can't. They're perfectionists. They want to test it via the fucking beta first and then there's gonna be this whole long period of polishing after the beta feedback and then they'll probably release it by the 2034. I hate this industry sometimes.

Constant internet connection, bwah. I'll just go with the reloaded/skidrow/etc. proper release :)

I didn't hear that. Hm, and I really didn't :)

I know that the Blizzard customer service staff just got their beta invitations about a week ago. It's kind of like in a football game during the fourth quarter, up by 40, when you let your walk-ons get a couple of plays in.
Vader: But that's normal for a beta right?

I've waited so long for this game, and Blizzard RUINED IT by making us be online all the time. Fucking bastards! Would it be that hard to let us play offline as a guest? No thanks, I am boycotting this game.

FUCK YOU BLIZZARD!
AtomicViking: The bottom line is the auction house. want to play offline? ...
Doomsday.: they have become corporate money hungry bastards!

See Its all about having full control of there property. Read there lovely user agreement next time you install starcraft 2. You basically give them full control and let them gripe you by your balls just to play.
Zenmuron [mail] Sep 22 2011, 09:27 pm EDT
*yawn* I think we should just wait for Torchlight 2. Then we can have a game that we can play and mod and not have a paypal account linked to it. Plus no horrible DRM online only asshat pile of shit that has a 21 page user agreement.
Keep up the pooping in a cup and mailing it to Blizzard.
