Dishonored Dunwall City Trials is Here

No not 'here' over there. As revealed on Steam, Dishonored: Dunwal City Trials, the DLC for the stealth themed shooter, has arrived:

Enter the world of the Outsider in Dishonored: Dunwall City Trials, the first add-on pack for the critically-acclaimed first-b,hperson action game by Arkane Studios. Your combat, stealth and mobility skills will be put to the test as you make your way through 10 distinct maps that feature a variety of challenges. Creatively combine your supernatural abilities, weapons and gadgets to eliminate as many targets as possible, fight off waves of tallboys, guards, weepers and thugs, or take out targets in a non-stop run of drop assassinations. Dunwall City Trials also features a new set of achievements and trophies as well as a global online leaderboard.

DLC anyone? This one's supposed to be really good. Shame it's not a traditional expansion pack - ya know, the kind they made back in the Middle Ages.

Just speaking for myself, challenge-maps aren't my idea of "really good" DLC. Much less DLC worth paying for. A studio can pump out something as simple as this with little real effort or investment.

Bethesda Softworks is just squeezing the teat here. Move along.

I don't mind it, it's $5/ Ł3 for 10 maps. I enjoyed the main game, but I was playing very clean and sneaky. At least these maps will let me let me be more violent and creative without consequence in the campaign. I'll probably pick it up on Steam sale at some point.

The price is only 5 USD? I assumed it had to be 15 bucks or something. Well, I concede 5 dollars isn't a terrible price for what's being offered.

Still seems a bit niggardly, though, like charging people 25 cents for extra packets of sauce. I would argue that they'd be better served just making this sort of extra content free, and in the process winning some additional goodwill from consumers. The sort of thing that promotes a loyal fanbase long-term.

Yeah, so...maps we've already played (possibly; possibly slightly different/cut and pasted sections?), with skills we've already tested (in the campaign)...with the bots on "infinite-spawn" and the maps on a timer?

Could they have put any less effort into this?

I'm not saying it won't be fun for a quick romp, but...even $5 is too much to pay for this little content.

:/

The full price DLC they have planned is supposedly a fully fleshed out story arc from the POV of one of the main antagonists. That's what I'm excited about, mainly, but this seems like a fun diversion, and people seem to be enjoying it so far.
