Excellent idea, I wonder who came up with it.
"hey guys, I have an idea that will solve our money-problem! let's delay all the major games that will give us a shitload of money,!"

A company works best when the people in it actually cares about their products or uses their own product.

I assumed that most people working in EA that makes all the important decisions doesn't even play games, the ones that make the games only cares about keeping their job.

How can anything good come out of that? We need to support independent developers more.

L4D isn't exactly theirs. If anything, they can brag about the whole distribution of the 360 version but honestly, I didn't even see them mentioned in-game. Then again, I didn't really look in the credits.

Well i think its a good idea, maybe they did learn they lesson. And will now produce better games, and better games need a longer time to make them.

Its a smart idea from EA to delay all the games, i hope it will help.

Here is the new corporate formula: First, you lay 25-30% of your workforce off. Second, you claim that you lost 50% of your PROJECTED profit. Third, you delay your product release date. And finally, you ask the government for a BAILOUT. Go figure.

Mass Effect 2 might not come out until April 2010!? This means it will be at least April 2011 before Mass Effect 2 comes to the PC. *sigh* Talk about depressing news.

People bitch and moan if games get delayed, but its incredibly short-sighted when they do because games have a long and recent history for being all the poorer thanks to fixed release timetables.

extra development time i hope?

I guess the idea is since Sim's 2 and Mass Effect are still selling delay the release of new projects untill they see those sales figures falling, then release some new stuff.
I mean who's going to buy Sims 2 anymore if you can buy Sims 3.(Plus i hear they have a new addon The Sims 2 : Economic Crisis)
