Spider-Man won't be in the Avengers 2. Although I really can't see where he'd fit among a group of heroes that work so well together. Well, actually they all despise each other and that's why the whole thing works in the movie - The Avengers, I mean. What's more, the cast appears to have terrific chemistry and that's another reason why it works brilliantly. Although poor, poor Spider-Man is gonna sit this one out (again), I think that if he joins The Avengers movie it might be a little too much. Or would it? What do you guys think?

I hope Stacy dies in the sequel and Mary Jane is the new love interest in the third.

Spider-man isn't part of The Avengers. But Marvel can do whatever the fuck it wants and change anything.

With the right writer, it might be able to work. But that means splitting screen-time between characters even more, either increasing the length of the movie or decreasing the length of screen-time for certain Avengers.

Spider-man is fine on his own anyway. They set both of those movies in New York and the timelines appear to be different. Why would Nick Fury not be interested in Spider-man?

And yep, Marvel certainly likes to retcon a whole lot of shit. I'll take Vertigo over Marvel any day.

Spiderman is a member of the new avengers
And adding him will make screen time, if not impossible,
Too short either way and marvel has some good story lines,
But the next movie should have some hulk action.

I like the hulk.
He's my hero.

I don't think Spider-man will ever be in an Avengers movie as long as Sony owns the rights to the franchise.
Hamsterkill: Correct. And Sony will likely retain those rights for…

Spider-Man wouldn't fit with the current cast of Avengers characters anyway. New Avengers was a radically different (and much less popular) team, and only taking Spider-Man from them and squeezing him in with the original Avengers team just wouldn't be appropriate.

Who gives a shit. From all these comic book movies Watchmen was the only one that was a bit more interesting. Spiderman, X-Men, Hulk, Avengers etc. they are all piece of crap.
Cheddar: Nolan's Batman movies have been undeniably great. I g…

Deadpool's cool.

Although that's sort of because he's essentially a humorous anti-hero that deliberately mocks traditional comic-book tropes.
