08:05 am EDT @ October 08th, 2012
Yeah, so, a FIFA game is currently the top-selling title in the UK. Just admit
it: you are shocked. In other words, Capcom's Resident Evil 6 was no match for the might of football (soccer).
Here's the UK sales chart for the week ending on October 6:
- FIFA 13 (EA)
- Resident Evil 6 (Capcom)
- Borderlands 2 (Take-Two)
- Just Dance 4 (Ubisoft)
- F1 2012 (Codemasters)
- NBA 2K13 (Take-Two)
- Rocksmith (Ubisoft)
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda)
- PES 2013 (Konami)
- Sleeping Dogs (Square Enix)

The biggest, most popular sport in the US is already called 'football' within its culture. Americans literally can't call soccer 'football', it would be pointlessly confusing for everyone. It's really tiresome how boorish Brits refuse to understand that. You know, Americans don't get all uptight about Brits referring to American football as "gridiron".
If one is going to complain about Americans calling European football 'soccer', then one might as well also complain that the whole world doesn't speak the same uniform language.
