Gamer Played Black Ops 2 For 136h

This one straight from Down Under. Believe it or not, 28-year-old Okan Kaya has played Activision Blizzard's shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, for 136 hours and 50 minutes (and that's no lie), setting a new record in the Guinness World Record for a video game marathon.

The previous record was set by two Canadian gamers, who played for 120 hours and 7 minutes.

Poor bastard. Look I play video games all the time and Black Ops 2 was really good, and yet the phrase "get a life" leaps to mind somehow.

Source.

Black Ops was good? Really good? All user reviews across all platforms average it around 4/10. I'd personally give it 1/10. The only "decent" thing about it would be the campaign.

As for this "marathon gamer", I feel sorry for him. He could of at least picked a better game! :)

What kind of nutcase plays a game for 136 hours straight? Good grief, my longest time was six hours with Starcraft 2. The pain in my back, knees and eyes lingered for several hours after that.

He didn't play for 136 hours straight. Are you crazy?

I played for 12 hours straight once and I thought I was gonna die.

On Metacritic users gives this crap a solid 3.3 (PC users), which is about what I always tought about it.
So, you may consider this "news" as an advertising strategy, because I predict dark clouds for this bullshit franchise.

At least he could have played something enjoyable.

By the way, you guys are all noobs! One of my first memorable gaming experiences was playing Harry Potter 1 for 12 hours straight. And then I was a about 9 years old... What a mess.

I remember playing The Legend of Zelda on the SNES for a stint of around 9 hours with breaks when I was 12 or so. I was trying to complete it in one go (the stats told you how many continues you used at the end) but I ballsed up really near the end. Happy days.

I play anywhere between 3-14 hours a day depending on whether I'm particularly interested in the game.

Half-Life was the first game I played 12+ hours straight. Later there were more of them. Nowadays, I can't really afford that anymore. But I did play Mass Effect 2 for 80 hours, 8 days, 10 hours each. Hell, I even took vacation for that. I haven't had such adventures since.
