Last month Epic Games and Microsoft revealed that the Xbox 360 shooter Gears of War 2 sold during its first weekend on the market. Also, the official word was that more than 1.5 million people logged into “Gears of War 2” on Xbox LIVE during the weekend, racking up a total 15 million gameplay hours (players collectively unlocked more than 19 million Achievements).

Today MS confirmed that Gears of War 2 sales surpassed "3 million units as of last week." Confirmation comes via Edge.
