Heavy Rain, the PS3-only adventure, hit the market back in February 2010 and according to development studio Quantic Dream the game sold 3 million units. The news was posted by Quantic CEO Guillaume de Fondaumiere via Twitter.
"Many publishers, after the success of Heavy Rain, would have said, 'Well, you need to do Heavy Rain 2. And do what you want, but it's going to be called Heavy Rain 2.' And we never had this conversation with Sony. They just asked me, 'What's next? What do you want to do?' 'Well, I have this idea, what do you think?' 'Yeah. It looks great!'" said Quantic Dream founder and Heavy Rain director David Cage.
Just to remind you, back in April 2013 it was announced that Heavy Rain garnered $100 million for publisher Sony.
