Killzone 3 & Gears of War 3 in April 2011?

It was only a matter of time until we heard details about Gears of War 3, which, by all accounts, is in development at Epic Games. Both Gears of War and Gears of War 2 gained positive feedback from the public and critics - and for very good reason too. While GoW remains one of the most influential franchises in terms of gameplay, GoW 2 is still one of the best-looking shooters on the console market. In short, any talk of a potential third installment isn't much of a surprise.
According to Edge, a "trusted US publishing source" revealed that Gears of War 3 is expected to be released in April 2011, with the premiere trailer set to go online next month (on April 8 to be exact). Their source also seems to indicate that this year's E3 festivities, in June, will bring more details. Epic VP Mark Rein commented during the Game Developers Conference that Epic Games won't be releasing any games this year.
Meanwhile, Killzone 3, the next game in the popular PS3-only shooter series, was said to have the same release date.

Reply Both of the franchises are super overatred. They may look pretty but Killzone has boring and limited gameplay mechanics and the story in Gears was nonexistant plus the one-liners tried so hard to be "badass" , sadly they missed the ass part. |

Reply Almost every successful shooter on the market uses gameplay mechanics that are partially or completely based on what GoW offers, not to mention the vast amount of games that utilize the UE3 engine. As a shooter, Gears of War 2 delivers everything a modern-day action game should have. The story was never the central part of the experience. |

Reply Lol, Killzone 3 just gets tagged on in the final sentence. Shame Killzone 2 was a considerably better game than GoW 2. GoW 2 multiplayer bugs and hacks were fucking shameful. |

Reply Indeed. Killzone 2 is a great example of what happens when game developers actually listen to their customers - the first one was a piece of crap; the second, while not groundbreaking, was a solid shooter and helluva fun ride. |
