LulzSec Declares "Beginning of the End" for Sony
Filed under: PBS, HACKERS, WIKILEAKS, LULZSEC, SONY
PBS' Frontline did a story on WikiLeaks. Some hackers didn't like it. LulzSec decided to "sail [a] Lulz Boat" around PBS' servers, leaving a pretty picture with the message "All Your Base Are Belong to LulzSec" (clearly some sort of satanist rallying cry) and suggested that Tupac Shakur is alive and well in New Zealand (like hell, everyone knows that Tupac is actually Vladimir Putin). WikiLeaks released an unedited video of the Frontline interview with Julian Assange instead of trashing the internet resources of the Public Broadcasting System.

Then using Twitter, the hacking group claimed credit for the PBS attack, and said it was working on another attack on Sony, declaring this upcoming attack to be the end of the multinational, multi-billion dollar corporation. No other details have been released, so who knows what will happen. Good for Sony though, they didn't even have to sue anybody to get attacked this time. I must say, it seems kind of ballsy to be using Twitter to discuss upcoming attacks or claim credit for previous attacks, but cyber crime in general, from simple social misbehavior to whatever, is nothing if not a game of brinkmanship.

Ha! The hackers want to be the first ones to destroy a corporation. They want glory. I'm actually curious if it is possible to pull of. At the same time I feel sorry for the SONY users who will be getting screwed when this attack starts.

A bunch of hacking nerds will take down a major company? Hah, good luck with that. Sony will be here long after these boys are rotting in prison!

I'd love to see PlayStation and Xbox go down in flames so the PC can rise again.

Sure, make yourself stand out of the crowd by doing the same thing everyone else is doing. Sony security right now has the airtight reputation of bug infested swiss cheese.

lol, it will never happen. It would take a ton of effort to bring down Sony. And if they did, think of the repercussions. Sony makes a lot more than just PS3s.

"Appear weak when you are strong and appear strong when you are weak"...

Although I doubt beer swelled computer brats wannabes are capable of sophistication. So yeah, I guess they are that stupid and announce they're big attack before it happening.

Anyway - not funny anymore. There's no excuse of pretending to defend freedom of speech here. Stealing PSN users credit cards also wasn't any statement. I hope these wannabes get caught and get served well. Really? Sony is the evil of the world with it's entertainment electronics? What's next? Amazon? Because those shipping prices are totally infringing on my human rights thing.

I'm sick of these 'hacktyvists'

There, I said it again and lost my bloody sex drive for a week.
