Minecraft Sells 500,000 Copies

The extremely popular indie game Minecraft already earned
quite a lot of money and the fascinating thing is that it isn't even out
of its alpha phase yet. According to newest reports, the game now sold over
500,000 copies.
Minecraft currently has 1.6 million registered users. Markus "Notch" Persson, the game's creator, revealed that his priority is to get "the multiplayer mode fully functioning," said Persson. "Once that's in place, I think there's a huge potential in competitive multiplayer modes like capture the flag and so on."
The game has an imminent Halloween update, which you can learn more about in an article posted over at PC Gamer.

Reply Is this game available in America? I've never heard of it until now. Anyway, I'm glad it's selling good. Indie devs need all the support they can get. |

Reply You can purchase it online from their website. Online distribution is the only chance for Indie games to succeed. |

Reply Been playing this offline for some time now. Incredibly addictive and probably the core definition of a 'sandbox' game. Lego 2.0 |
