Mirror's Edge 2 in the Works

Thank the gaming Gods! I don't care if it's not an official announcement or anything concrete about Mirror's Edge 2, it's still news about Mirror's Edge 2 and that's good enough for me. Anyway, the scoop is that the sequel to the somewhat underrated parkour-themed action game, Mirror's Edge, is finally in development.
In a response to several comments, EA Games VP Patrick Soderlund wrote on Twitter: "It is general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene that Mirror's Edge 2 is in production at DICE."
Now, let's not jinx this one shall we. Let's make this work. Please, EA have mercy.
*SIGH*
They're going to turn it into a free-to-play MMOG or something... I just know it.

If you liked the first game then good. Just remember you will get more of the same with more dlc and origin will of course be required.
The first game was effectively the prototype of a new sort of genre. So it's logical to expect the second game will be an even more fully realized vision.
I mean, the entire point of the game is supposed to be about constant motion, right?
That the game -- which, practically speaking, was really just an experiment in its relative infancy -- still managed to be so entertaining bodes very well for the sequel.
Considering DICE's proven ability as a developer, it's a sound assumption that they've now thought up myriad ways to improve and build upon the first game's prototypical experience.
And that's what Mirror's Edge was. An experiment. Even though it wasn't exactly a successful one.
The only sequels I played in years are STALKER Call of Pripiath, Portal 2 and Witcher.
You don't understand Mirror's Edge. I don't understand why would anyone wanna play another MW or Assassin's Creed.
That's why this industry got so lame. This and fuckin' consoles.
