I'm still waiting to play the first one. Bought a copy, oh, what? Four years ago now? And, 3 different computers have refused to let me play it. I paid for another pretty coaster.

The russian version is already out, on torrents no less.

I've just had a thought about why some games are better than others and made us coming back for more. Take a real world analogy for example, if you go to a theme park you will automatically want to play or take some rides.

If you go to a candy shop you'll want candy, if you go to a whore house you'll want to fuck. This is so because we already have an idea of what those places are and what to expect. In addition all of the places mentioned above give us options to fuck around both metaphorically and literally.

That is why games like GTA, Zelda: ocarina of time and baldur's gate are so fun. It establish what kind of game it is right at the beginning and gives you lots of freedom to fuck around. Or play creatively if you will.

Games these days just lack that kind of freedom, in order to win you're expected to do one thing and one thing only. There's no variety of play, no freedom, no creativity. Just press A then go to B.

Let's hope witcher 2 will change that.

I hope so too. But games like that are never easy to make and developers won't go to that kind of trouble just to please gamers, when they can stick to making what sells.

*sigh* My PC is in the shop now. Can't get it to do much. The boys think it's the motherboard, but they need to run a couple tests. Needless to say, I won't be playing Witcher 2 for a while :(

Damn, I'm in the same predicament as Terminator. PC is fuggin' broke.

Playing Metro 2033 for fifteen minutes, then BAM, thing shuts off. Made we wanna punch a baby, pissed me off so much.
