Time for a new poll yet?
As I recall, July 4th has something to do with some sort of pompous letter a few guys wrote, trolling the King of England. Apparently he got super-raged.
Let's be honest. It has been an American fantasy for quite some time.
Well, anyway, point is, it's a pretty common type of holiday across the world, but it's amusing -- in an annoying sort of way -- that everyone knows the United States' specific independence day.
there are levels of poverty or prosperity but to be honest we're all on our own.
another thing, not to be a jerk but the majority of americans are arrogant beyond belief, i think there is an inherent need to compete with the english in arrogance, vanity and superficiality.
God bless America....must i add no other nationality has such a retarded verbal tic ?
I can definitely understand and appreciate the sentiment and vision, that was behind the Declaration of Independence. Which if I recall, was hating the taxman.
Seriously though, first ever democracy to form after breaking away from tyrannical monarchy. This is something to commemorate after all.
im not anti-american, im just anti-hive mindedness.
presently, americans who especially get screen time with shows, presentations, festivals etc. for some reason have to glorify their existence within the "greatest nation on earth". ive heard that quote from countless comedians and talk show hosts.
im not hating, im just saying, countries that have a camera pointed at them should act less...silly ? "great"britain needs no slap because they have a sense of self-irony which is good, balances out the stupidity in their own world.
