Gonna need a strong sedative this week.

Starting divorce procedure tomorrow. Life is pretty sucky at the moment.

On the plus side, getting divorced leaves plenty of free time for gaming :)

On another plus side, I can't shake off the overwhelming sea of women, eagerly lining up to learn all about my prodigious sexual desires...

... well, that's not entirely true, of course. There was this one potential date with a girl, but later on, I managed to find out she's not a girl. She was, in fact, a cleverly disguised pelican. And from where I come from, pelicans are renowned for giving lousy blow jobs.

Must turn towards a different species altogether.

I can't say divorce is a good thing but I do like the fact that, you're hanging to the plus side of it, one can only guess, it's kind of the final solution but hey, if you couldn't reconcile, in the end it's better this way.

Not having to repress your feeling about it, well I say, go for it find someone who'll make you happy, there's no shortage out there, that's for sure. It's your right, most people don't do it because of all the paper work/bureaucracy and legal issues, so they just sulk in it, get depressed and stuff, so yeah for what it's worth, I for one support demarche.

Not that I want to end this on an apotheotic note but it's gonna fall hard on the children, they need both a father and a mother figure, just don't omit that from the equation and go visit from time to time.

''All fathers are invisible in daytime; daytime is ruled by mothers and fathers come out at night. Darkness brings home fathers, with their real, unspeakable power. There is more to fathers than meets the eye.''-don't know where that's from but it sound cool.

Morning. Sorry it came to this Vader, but divorce is better than non-stop fighting. Sometimes it's best to go your seperate ways. Good luck my friend.

The number 1 cause for divorce is marriage. It's a simple mistake and divorce is a somewhat painful remedy. Just don't leave any fingerprints.
Vader: Good point. Oh and it's too late about the finger…
Kurio Sep 10 2012, 05:24 am EDT
Marriage, rather oudated, on the other hand there is nothing wrong with it per se, it is more about people rushing into it without truly knowing eachother.
There was a reason for engagements lasting several years, up to decades in the past.
Now people marry after "knowing" eachother for a year or two, that is hardly enough time to know someone at all.

Anyway, good luck with all the procedures, reduce headaches and let pride go, pride only hurts yourself.

Wont say the "sea is full of fish", but do whatever makes you happy, dont think that just because you are told all your life "you need a girl", that you actually need one, you can lead perfectly blissful lives without ever touching one.
If you do want/need them however, well, at least now you are free to test different options, and a tad wiser

Can't blame her. No woman, right in her mind, can't stand a 4-eyed, hunchback, dickwad sitting in a chair, starring at the screen all day long. Her husband? even worse. Doing that for a living? Much, much worse.

I mean, how did she hid it from her friends all this years? What does your husband do?. I'm sure she made up stories or at least she would have liked to.

And of course she cheated on you, before even bringing the subject of divorce. That's a given.

Most probably you failed to satisfy her on all accounts. If sex would have been good, but that probably got boring long time ago. Financially? Forget about it. Maybe spiritually? Aah...you don't even know what that means.

It's ridiculous, to hope for better now. There's nothing left for you out there but leftovers...the kind you need only in the middle of the night, when you're really, really hungry.

No happy ending stories my friend. You are left with starring in that screen and dream....dream away.

Divorces are messy and I hope the drama doesn't last too long and you can move on with your life. Louis C.K. says you shouldn't be sad for people who just got divorced, because no happy marriage has ever ended in divorce. It makes sense, because why would people get divorced if they were happy together? Don't waste your time feeling miserable. Life is so much bigger and enjoyable than our forgettable personal affairs; once the initial fuss of your problems are over, they only affect you if you hold on to them. Let it go and open yourself up to the world and see where it takes you.

Good luck, man. I'd buy you a drink if I could because I appreciate the work you do on this site.

Good luck Vader; some tough times lie ahead but perhaps better ones also. Please enjoy an additional 'Virtual Beer' on me. This one is Real Ale, nice and mellow with only a touch of bitterness.

But let's not forget Kurt Cobain's words: MARRIED, BURIED!

Oh, for fuck's sake Vader, you're setting yourself free, enjoy the life. If you're gonna divorce, that just means your marriage sucked, and if it sucked, you're better off unmarried.
And marriage sucks in general. So, there you go.

Sorry brother... Life is definately full of ups and downs, but I hope you take some comfort in knowing that you have plenty of years left in your life (At least I hope you do!!!) to make the most of the time you have left. :-)

Nobody here seems to care about the wife. Well I hope she finds someone who can read her mind and find it's contents interesting too.

And on a slightly unrelated note: woman is 53 but looks 27. Except... she looks 53 ?
crazyhermit Sep 10 2012, 03:17 pm EDT
@un om bun
Well, there was a similar morning post some time ago, where Vader said that he wasn't into the whole divorce thing, because of his daughter, he was trying to talk the wife through thinking, that they would reach a consensus at some point if memory serves me right. Now, I don't presume to know Vader, so I'll just take his word for it.

On another note, writing personal stuff is fine, that's what makes you well you, what are we supposed to do talk about, the weather all day like some bored Brits, anyhow it's your site(well, you do share it with us but your the main protagonist) post what you feel like posting and don't worry about the crowd, nobody disliked it hence everybody has taken some of their own time, to write an opinion on the matter, some more than others, don't forget the site is an extension of yourself and of your hardships, it is of course personal but that's what makes it special.

True, some were benevolent some malevolent but nobody was indifferent(which btw is the pinnacle of negative response, also known as not giving a fuck).True we are just some internet strangers but taking 5 min of your time to speak to someone, anyone can mean the world to someone, it does it for me at least, makes me forget my daily issues if only for just one moment.

If your goal was to draw peoples attention, then today was truly a productive day indeed.

Divorce is just par for the course in this brave new women's lib era. I think I recall reading somewhere that 9 in 10 marriages end in divorce now? Can't be surprised. Monogamy is already a highly questionable notion, in regard to basic human nature. I just hope you signed a prenup, Vader.

Oh yeah, and remember to still be there for your kid (you have one, right?). Honestly, he or she is the one that's losing the most (of what truly matters) in this, not you or your ex. So don't indulge the pity-party. Being a parent is a much bigger responsibility than being a husband, and failing at the former is far, FAR less forgivable than failing at the latter. You remember that, as your family readjusts itself.
