So, am I right in thinking that the ideal game would be a well-written party-based
adventure game with heavy RPG elements, mixing both tactical, turn-based and real-time
and action-oriented gameplay, additionally allowing players to switch from first-person
to 3rd-person perspective or to a top-down view?

You forgot the inadequate female armour and character customisation.
The Sims 2 is better though, even with the visual glitches popping up occasionally. Tyts McGoolygyr set his house on fire within hours of moving into the neighborhood (and meeting new faces). Simply put, it's the last time I let him cook without me.
And he's gonna be the only doctor with at least a half-dozen stds.
I like dynamic things like that.
Reikhardt, I'd like to respond to your question regarding APB:R, if I may. :) If you had played it when it hit the stores in 2010, well, now it's a very different game, and much better in every way. If you played it after it was relaunched as FTP, it's improving quite quickly, with frequent updates and fixes, and I love it more with every day. There's still the "pay to win" issue, but in my opinion it is nearly non existant, as premium weapons are not stronger than the normal ones, if you know how to use them properly. They are easier to grasp maybe and some are quite unique, but hardly anything beyond that.
